Park Farm Camping

Eighteen acres of working farmland on the River Rother where you pitch wherever you like, light a fire, and walk to Bodiam Castle before lunch.

Park Farm sits on the East Sussex and Kent border, with the River Rother running along its edge and 18 acres of open field to spread out across. You choose your own pitch size, which means families can claim a generous patch of grass and couples can find a quieter corner. The freedom-pitch setup is the whole point here: no regimented rows, no numbered stakes, just a good site on farmland that's been farmed for a long time.

Bodiam Castle is a 20-minute riverside walk from site, which earns this place its location more than anything else. You can follow the River Rother out to the Castle Inn for a pint, or kayak and fish from the water's edge on site. The High Weald surrounds you, and Bedgebury Pinetum with its Go Ape treetop course is a 15 to 20-minute drive for families with older children. Camber Sands is 20 miles if you need a beach day.

The converted barn on site houses a bar, cafe, and covered play space, which makes rainy mornings less grim and bank holidays considerably livelier. Facilities are solid: hot showers, flush toilets, electric hook-up pitches (pre-bookable), a shop, and an outdoor playground. Campfires are welcome at pitches. The site enforces a 10pm noise curfew, which wardens actively patrol.

Before you book

  • Bank holidays and summer weekends can be very busy with a festival atmosphere in the evenings; book a quieter mid-week stay if you want calm.
  • Dogs are not accepted on site.
A proper farm-field campsite made better by its location: a riverside walk to one of England's most photogenic castles, campfires allowed, and the freedom to pitch where you choose.
