Glottenham Farm Glamping

A historic conservation farm in the High Weald where year-round glamping cabins and a yurt share the land with August tent camping, deer at dusk, and rolling Sussex hills.

Glottenham Farm sits on a conservation farm in the High Weald of East Sussex, a stretch of ancient countryside that rewards visitors who slow down and look. The yurt and cabins run year-round; for twelve pitches of tent camping you need to come in August, when the family fields open up for the month.

The setting does the heavy lifting. Sunsets flame over unspoilt Sussex hills, and deer graze at the bottom of the meadow most evenings. Guests in the yurt have spoken of the outdoor shower under tree canopy as a highlight in itself, and the site runs workshops in plant medicine and woodland survival skills that lean fully into the conservation character of the place. The communal fire pits, outside grill, and pizza oven give evenings a natural gathering point.

Robertsbridge is a walkable distance away, with The George pub waiting at the end of it. The beach is reachable for a day out, and 1066 country's collection of historical sites sits on the doorstep. The farm is close enough to Robertsbridge station to arrive by train, which suits the site's unhurried register well.

Before you book

  • Tent camping is only available during August (12 pitches for approximately 28 days); glamping units are open year-round.
  • Phone reception is patchy to non-existent on site.
One of the more honest expressions of conservation farming and camping in the South East: a real working landscape where the accommodation earns its place rather than dominating it.

Why it made the cut

  • Genuinely immersive setting on a High Weald conservation farm with deer, woodland, and outstanding evening views
  • Year-round glamping (cabins and yurt) with seasonal tent camping gives the site real range across the calendar
  • On-site skills workshops, pizza oven, and communal fire pits add substance beyond the basics
  • Walkable to Robertsbridge village and The George pub, with train access making it car-optional
