Coppet Hill
A 600-acre working farm in West Dorset with fire on every pitch, Lyme Bay views, and owners who genuinely want to show you the land.
Coppet Hill sits above the Marshwood Vale on a family-run farm three miles from the Jurassic Coast, with views that sweep from Portland round to Beer in Devon. The 14 pitches are mown into the grass in two quiet fields, each spacious enough to feel private, and the farm's 8 miles of nature trails thread out from the gate.
The owners run this as a place of genuine curiosity: moth club evenings, tractor tours, and the kind of enthusiasm for wildlife and land that guests mention unprompted. The barn is the social hub, with a small shop, games, and tea and cake. A compost loo and water tap come with each pitch, which makes the walk to the main shower block entirely manageable.
Lotus Belle glamping tents and off-grid Landpods round out the accommodation, and a Pond Hideaway with its own shower and fire pit is the most recent addition. Every pitch gets a fire pit. Dark skies in West Dorset are among the best in England, and you can read that in the view on a clear night.
