Carrick Little Glamping
Three pods at the foot of the Mournes, with mountain and sea views on your doorstep and trails starting from the gate.
Carrick Little Glamping sits on the Carrick Little Track in the Mourne Mountains, County Down, with the kind of views that make you stop mid-sentence: rolling mountain ridges behind, a slice of sea in front. Julie runs three fully equipped pods here, each with its own shower, toilet, microwave, kettle and enough kitchenware and cutlery for two. The pods are compact but considered, with a sofa, ample sockets and a comfortable bed.
The setting does the heavy lifting. Walkers and hikers are the natural guests: trails into the Mournes begin at the gate, making it a rare spot where you can spend ten hours on the hill and be back at your pod without a drive. Julie's hospitality is hands-on in the best way, turning on heaters before cold-weather arrivals and responding to last-minute bookings with ease.
Pods are open year-round, which makes this a genuine winter option in a part of Northern Ireland where the Mournes look their most dramatic under low cloud. Disposable BBQs and firewood are available on site for the fire pits.
