Brook Lodge Farm Camping & Caravan Park

A 1730s Somerset farm with a babbling brook, orchard walks and genuinely caring owners, sitting neatly between Bristol, Bath and the Mendip Hills.

Brook Lodge Farm has been welcoming campers since 1973 on the same 5-acre grass site in Cowslip Green that dates back to the 1730s. Mature native trees shelter the pitches, a brook runs along one side, and an old orchard sits at the heart of the site. The A38 is close, which means the drive in is simple and cities are within reach, but it also means some road noise at the edges of the field after dark.

The owners, Debbie and her family, are the reason this place earns its reputation. Regulars remark on their readiness to help before arrival and in person, and on the care put into the site itself: spotless shower rooms with strong pressure, a large wetroom, a laundry room, a freezer for provisions. A locked keypad gate makes the site feel private and secure. Fire pits are available to hire with wood sold on site, and those who light one in the orchard tend to remember the evening.

The position is one of the site's quiet strengths. Blagdon Lake is 2 miles away. Wrington village is a mile from Cowslip Green. Bristol city centre is 15 minutes by car and there is a bus stop nearby for those who prefer to leave the car behind. Bath, Wells and Glastonbury are all within easy reach, making this a natural base for a longer Somerset and North Somerset tour. Walking, birdwatching and cycling through the surrounding country lanes are on the doorstep.

Before you book

  • The A38 passes close to the site, and some pitches near the road boundary pick up traffic noise after dark.
  • No dogs are permitted on site.
  • No shop within walking distance. Bristol is approximately 6.7 miles for groceries.
Brook Lodge Farm earns its following through owner care, a proper historic setting and the kind of thoughtful detail, fire pit hire, a freezer for your food, a locked gate, that makes a campsite feel genuinely looked after.
