Park Farm Campsite

A pitch-where-you-want organic dairy farm in North Wiltshire with campfires as standard, a wood-fired sauna next door, and owners who actually come round to check you're OK.

Park Farm is a working organic dairy farm on the western edge of Swindon, and the campsite sits in a field that feels closer to wildflower meadow than manicured lawn. The grass stays uncut, you choose your own pitch, and the sense of space is the point. Rolling countryside stretches beyond the hedge, sunrises catch the hills, and after dark the sky is clear enough to track satellites overhead.

Zoe and Ed run the place personally and it shows: three compost toilets kept impressively clean, two hot showers, a washing-up area, a shared freezer, and a charging point. The honesty shop stocks fresh eggs, jam, honey from the farm, plus logs and marshmallows. Free fire pits come with every pitch; a sack of wood can be ordered for arrival. The Wiltshire Wild Sauna sits adjacent to the main field, wood-fired with a cold dip, and bookable separately for the post-campfire ritual.

Families land well here. There's a sandpit, communal toys, and a set of recommended local walks printed with picture guides, making them genuinely usable for anyone new to the area. An adjacent smaller paddock can be hired privately for group gatherings. The site also takes caravans and motorhomes alongside tents, and two glamping units are available. The Cotswolds is within easy reach for day trips.

Before you book

  • Some pitches slope noticeably, which is part of the farm-field character but worth knowing if you sleep lightly.
One of the most honestly run farm campsites in Wiltshire: owner-present, campfire-forward, and priced as though the point is getting people outside rather than extracting money from them.

Why it made the cut

  • Pitch-where-you-want ethos on a real working farm, not a manicured holiday field
  • Wood-fired sauna with cold dip makes it a genuinely complete off-duty evening
  • Owners visibly present and genuinely attentive without being fussy
  • Honesty shop and free fire pits signal the right values from the start
