Noblewood Camping

Seven acres of private Lakeland woodland with its own ponds, run by Stan and Lynne with the kind of care that makes first-timers want to come back immediately.

Noblewood sits in Low Nabs Wood on the southern fringe of the Lake District National Park, a short drive from Grange-over-Sands. The seven acres of private woodland enclose several ponds, herons fish them in the day, bats quarter them at dusk, and the pitches are spaced through the trees with enough gap between them that you're not in each other's eyeline.

Stan and Lynne run the site with evident attention. They meet you on arrival, lend extension cables when yours falls short, and keep the facilities to a standard that surprises returning campers every time. Showers are clean and consistently hot, bins at each pitch get emptied daily, and signage is low-key enough that the woodland feel holds. Fire pits are available, with well-seasoned wood and logs sold on site at a modest price.

Dogs are genuinely welcomed here: some pitches are enclosed within fenced paddocks, giving owners the freedom to let their dog settle without constant lead management. The site draws a loyal repeat clientele and a mix of tents, campervans, and caravans, all with electric hookup. Cartmel village is 15 minutes away for provisions and the famous sticky toffee pudding; Lake Windermere is the same distance in the other direction.

Before you book

A woodland campsite that earns its reputation through owner care and genuine setting, the ponds, the bats, the herons, the quiet between the trees. One of those sites you think you're trying once and end up booking again before you leave.
