Loch Ness Glamping

Three Armadilla pods on the shore of Loch Ness, with fire pits per pitch, farm animals roaming, and Glen Urquhart views from every deck.

Loch Ness Glamping sits on a working farm in Glenurquhart, within the Great Glen, a short bicycle ride from Drumnadrochit. Three Armadilla pods are spread across 11 acres of grounds with river frontage, each with its own fire pit and BBQ. The front decks look out across Glen Urquhart, and the farm itself brings horses, sheep, and chickens into daily life around the pods.

Hosts Sonia and Graham run the site with evident care: pods are well-equipped with full kitchen facilities, all bedding and towels included, and complimentary tea and coffee on arrival. When the Scottish weather holds, the outdoor fire pit and seating are the obvious choice for evenings; when it doesn't, a Finnish barbecue house serves as a covered gathering spot. With only three units, the site has the feel of a private stay rather than a cluster of holiday lets.

Urquhart Castle is close by, Drumnadrochit's Loch Ness Monster exhibitions and loch cruises are a short ride away, and Inverness is an easy drive. The Cairngorm mountains are within reach for walking or winter snowboarding. Six restaurants and four takeaways sit within three miles, so resupply is straightforward.
