Jordans Estate Glamping

Jordans Estate is a historic family estate at the foot of the Blackdown Hills AONB, just 2 miles from Ilminster and a straightforward drive from the M5. The three shepherd huts, Stanley, Livingstone and the newer double hut Lady Lara, are placed far enough apart that each pitch feels entirely private, screened by willow fencing and set among 300-year-old specimen plane trees.

Each hut is owner-built in oak and fitted with genuine attention: en-suite bathroom, kitchen, wood-burning stove, and a wood-fired hot tub that's yours alone. The fire pit and pizza oven are exclusive to each pitch too, so the whole outdoor kitchen experience unfolds without sharing a grid with strangers. The bedroom skylight is positioned for stargazing, and the views from the window take in the Blackdown Hills and, on clear evenings, deer grazing in the mist below the plane trees.

Host Rich's pre-arrival email is detailed and warmly written, and arrivals mention a welcome hamper of hot chocolate, marshmallows and locally sourced coffee that sets the tone immediately. Jordans Courtyard, less than a mile away, has a cafe and terrace. Several good Somerset pubs are within easy reach. This is a site built entirely for two people who want time, quiet, and a fire.
