Bob's Field

A solar-powered Somerset Levels field with a South American cantina, sunset views, and a walk into Glastonbury from the gate.

Bob's Field sits on the outskirts of Glastonbury on the Somerset Levels, and the location does a lot of the work. You can walk into town or hop the bus, Glastonbury Tor is a short hike away, and the flat wetland horizon puts on the sort of amber sunsets that are worth a trip alone.

What sets the site apart is the cantina. Owners Kevin and Sadie run the whole thing with warmth and obvious personality: Sadie's Mexican-inflected cooking (the spiced potatoes alone earn repeat visits), margaritas, a well-stocked bar, and communal seating around a fire pit that becomes the social hub each evening. It's vibey without being loud. Campers tend to gather, eat, drink, then drift back to tents in the kind of unhurried rhythm that good campsites enable.

The field itself is small and low-impact: wild camping pitches, bell tents, and campervan spots, all solar-powered. Showers and toilets are clean and consistently well-kept. Fruit trees ring the site and you're encouraged to pick; one of the owners does a daily round with fresh fruit for guests. The operation has genuine character at every level.
