Goren Farm
A 70-acre wildflower farm on the Blackdown Hills fringe where eight foot-accessed pitches, an on-farm café, and low light pollution make for a quietly complete summer escape.
Goren Farm sits on the edge of the Blackdown Hills AONB, a working wildflower farm with orchards, wildlife-rich hedgerows, and valley views that set the tone before you've pitched a tent. There are eight pitches in total, each with a fire pit or BBQ, and the rule is simple: you walk in from the car park. The further you go, the more seclusion you find. Campervans are welcome from late July when the ground has had time to firm up.
The on-farm café is the social centre in the best possible way, home-baked scones, cream teas, cider pressed on the premises, and fruit juice from the farm's own orchards. It's the kind of place where lunch under the Devon sky becomes the afternoon. Facilities are thoughtful without being overworked: compost toilets, a hot shower in a converted horsebox, a shared fridge and freezer, USB charging, and direct access to walking trails through green Devon lanes.
The Blackdown Hills offer good walking from the gate, and the coast is a short drive away. Light pollution is low here, so clear nights reward the patient. Open from mid-May to mid-September, with a week off in early July for the farm's own festival.
Before you book
- Pitches are foot-accessed from the car park, not suitable if you need vehicle-side access.
- Campervans restricted to late July onwards when ground conditions allow.
- Closed for one week in early July for the Goren Festival.
“A proper working wildflower farm that earns its reputation through owner care, honest food, and pitches placed far enough apart that the silence is the main event.”
