Far Peak Camping

A generous 25-acre Cotswolds spread near Northleach where three long-distance trails converge and fire pits come with the pitch.

Far Peak sits in open Gloucestershire countryside between Burford and Cirencester, part of the Cotswolds AONB and a natural staging post for walkers on the Monarch's Way, Diamond Way, and Macmillan Way. The site covers 25 acres, which means pitches don't feel on top of one another even when the site is busy.

The range runs from standard grass tent pitches and electric hook-up bays through to tipis, shepherd huts, and domed glamping units. Each glamping option has its own fire pit, which sets the tone: this is a site that wants you to stay outside after dark rather than retreat indoors. The Glade area of the site has a good balance of space and access to the shower and toilet blocks, which guests report are kept clean.

A cafe and pub operate on site in season, and paid activity outfits (climbing wall, low ropes course) run out of the grounds independently. The curfew is 10:30pm and the staff enforce it, which keeps nights genuinely quiet. Open April to October.

Before you book

  • Some pitches slope noticeably; worth asking for a level one when booking.
  • The paid activity facilities (climbing centre, low ropes course) are run by third parties and not always open.
A solid Cotswolds base that earns its place through scale, setting, and the rare combination of walk-in trail access with proper glamping. The fire pits and enforced curfew signal what kind of place this is trying to be.

Why it made the cut

  • 25 acres in the Cotswolds AONB with three named long-distance trails accessible on foot
  • Fire pits across the glamping range create a genuine around-the-fire atmosphere
  • 10:30pm curfew actively enforced, keeping the site quiet overnight
  • Range of pitch types means it works for tent campers, tourers, and glampers in the same site
