Dartmoor Domes
Owner-run geodesic domes in a wooded Dartmoor meadow, each with its own wood-burning hot tub and private facilities, proper off-grid glamping with a family's fingerprints all over it.
Dartmoor Domes sits in a wooded meadow beside a stream on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Devon. Owner Emma runs a small collection of geodesic domes, the Haytor and Hound Tor among them, each with its own private outdoor kitchen, compost toilet, shower room, fire pit, and wood-burning hot tub. The site runs on solar power; there's no mains electricity and no phone signal, which is rather the point.
Each dome is individually fitted out with a king-sized bed, log burner, and enough domestic detail, board games, s'mores kits, hot chocolate sachets, activity packs for kids, to feel like someone thought about your stay before you arrived. The Haytor dome takes dogs, with blankets laid on for them. Birthday surprises, alpaca visits, and Emma waiting at the gate on arrival: this is owner-run in a way that's increasingly rare.
Dartmoor is accessible from the site in minutes, with moorland hiking, the Drakes Trail cycling route, and eventually the Southwest Coast Path all within reach. The wooded meadow keeps the domes sheltered and private from one another. The stream running through the grounds keeps children entertained regardless of weather.

“A family-run glamping site in Dartmoor that earns its reputation through owner care and considered detail rather than scale, the wood-burning hot tub beside a Devon stream is exactly as good as it sounds.”
