Fakenham Farm

A working farm on the Isle of Wight with sea views over the Solent and a beach five minutes on foot.

Fakenham Farm sits in the St Helens corner of the Isle of Wight, where the land tips towards the Solent and cruise liners pass Napoleonic Forts in the middle distance. The view is the reason to come: you can watch Queen Mary II sail by from a working farm field, which is a sentence that earns a campsite its place on the list.

The beach is a five-minute walk and the Isle of Wight Coastal Path runs from the doorstep. St Helens village is the same distance in the other direction, with a pub and restaurant overlooking the village green. This is a site that drops you into a place rather than insulating you from it: farm setting, coastal path, village within strolling distance.

Dogs are welcome, electric hookups are available, and there is chemical disposal for those touring with motorhomes or caravans. Families and couples are the natural fit; groups are less well catered for.
