Cowpots Camping

Off-grid West Wales farm with private en-suite pitches, wood-fired pizza, and evening views of the Preseli Hills.

Cowpots is one of those rare sites where the idea behind it is as good as the execution. Nineteen pitches spread across four fields on Pen Back Farm, each one its own self-contained unit: composting toilet, hot shower, fire pit, covered kitchen and dining area. You share the farm and the skyline; nothing else.

The farm sits on the Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire border, close to Narberth and a 15-minute drive from the coast. Tenby and Saundersfoot are in easy reach for beach days. Evening light catches the Preseli Hills from the higher pitches, and the night sky here earns its reputation among photographers. Woodland walks thread through the site and local wildlife is a regular backdrop.

The Wild Spa pitch adds a hot tub and sauna to its private setup, which is a straightforward way to spend a week. Wood-fired pizza from the on-site pizzeria is one of the things guests come back for specifically. The whole operation is off-grid and run with real care: hosts are responsive, pitches are spacious, and three-year repeat visits are common. Adults only or families in their own space, dogs welcome in the dog field.
