Celtic Camping

Pembrokeshire coast camping at its most honest: Irish Sea views, direct Coastal Path access, and fire pits for hire from £14 a night.

Celtic Camping sits inside the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, four miles north of St Davids on a working farm with an uninterrupted western outlook across the Irish Sea. The sunsets here are the kind that make people stop mid-cook and just watch. Abereiddy Bay, a sheltered pebbly cove with good swimming, is about five minutes on foot from the site.

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path runs directly from the campsite, so the next morning's walk starts the moment you leave your pitch. The farmhouse field has the flattest ground and is worth paying extra for; other areas of the site run on a slope. Fires are well catered for: the site sells logs, kindling and firelighters and hires out fire pits, so there's no need to bring your own.

On-site, there's a small cafeteria for days when cooking feels like too much effort, a basic reception shop for essentials, and clean maintained shower and toilet blocks. At peak weekends and bank holidays the facilities can feel stretched, so if you want the site at its quietest, come mid-week or outside school holidays. The coastal exposure means wind is part of the deal: pack layers even in summer.

Before you book

  • The site can be noticeably windy due to its coastal position; bring extra layers even in summer.
  • Facilities can feel stretched at busy bank holiday weekends, with queues for showers and toilets.
A straightforward, budget-friendly base for Pembrokeshire coast walking with sea views that earn the site its reputation.
