Cae Adda sits directly on the shore of Llyn Trawsfynydd within Eryri National Park, the Rhinogydd mountain range rising around it. You get a clear view of the lake from the moment you park up, and the pitches are spread across two grass camping fields that keep numbers low enough to feel genuinely quiet.

The site is family-run in the proper sense: reviewers consistently mention the owner being on hand, easy to find, and helpful when you need them. The communal facilities block is kept to a standard that draws comment in almost every review: clean showers, clean toilets, and a kitchen room with a bothy-type set-up that's genuinely useful after a day on the hills. For those wanting more shelter, there are also two cabins and a self-catering cottage on site.

Walking access is immediate: the reservoir path starts from the campsite and the Rhinogs are on your doorstep, with the Cambrian Way within a couple of kilometres. The site is dog-friendly and the pace here is unhurried throughout. Note that swimming and inflatables are not permitted in the lake itself.

Before you book

Access is via a single-track road; the Mountain Rescue station is on the left just before you arrive, which is context for the terrain you're entering.
