Blair Drummond Caravan Park
A sheltered walled-garden base in Stirlingshire that puts the Safari Park on your doorstep and Loch Lomond a short drive away.
Blair Drummond sits in a four-acre walled garden on the south bank of the River Teith, ringed by ancient woodland that keeps the pitches genuinely sheltered. The setting does real work: mature trees overhead, grass underfoot, and the kind of enclosed hush you wouldn't expect this close to Stirling. At 90-odd pitches it runs at the larger end of the Campr scale, but the walled garden structure and woodland canopy stop it feeling like an open field of caravans.
The location is the main event. Blair Drummond Safari Park is right on the doorstep (the lions are audible on a still morning, according to regulars). Doune Castle, Stirling Castle, and Loch Katrine are all within easy reach, and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is a short drive away. The Blair Drummond Smiddy farm shop and restaurant is a short walk through the woods, and reviewers make a point of recommending it.
Facilities are kept to a high standard: modern shower and toilet blocks that earn consistent praise for cleanliness, EHU across the hardstanding pitches, a laundry, a reception shop, and a playground with zip wire that earns its keep with young children. Weekend pizza nights in the car park add a welcome low-key social element. Staff are notably hands-on: the manager Lyndsey has a reputation for remembering names on a full site and giving genuinely useful local walks advice.
Shepherd huts make it work for those who want a roof, and tents are properly integrated rather than relegated to a distant corner. Dogs are welcome across the site. Open from mid-March to late October.
Before you book
- Five miles from the M9 makes it very easy to reach, but also means you're closer to main road noise than the setting suggests from the brochure.
