Hadrian's Wall Campsite

The campsite for Hadrian's Wall walkers who want proper EHU pitches, an immaculate shower block, and a knowledgeable host on hand.

Hadrian's Wall Campsite sits less than a mile from the Wall itself, in Northumberland National Park, positioned squarely for people who want to walk the Hadrian's Wall Path or the Pennine Way from their pitch. The AD122 bus stops nearby for non-walkers, at £6 for a day explorer ticket.

The site occupies a hillside with pitches at different levels, trees and flowers between them, and views across the Northumberland landscape. A shared fridge and freezer serves non-electric tent pitches, which is a thoughtful touch. The owner, Ade, is routinely praised for local knowledge: walking routes, Roman forts, the Milecastle Inn and Twice Brewed pub, both within walking distance. On-site there is a small shop and breakfast rolls.

Facilities are kept to an unusually high standard. Multiple independent visitors have called it the cleanest toilet and shower block they have encountered. Pitches are spacious with water and electric hookup, and the site has a quiet, unhurried rhythm that suits walkers and tourers equally. A shepherd's hut rounds out the accommodation range for those who'd rather not bring a tent.
