Gwersyllfa Glyndŵr Campsite

A tent-only farm stop on Glyndŵr's Way with barn-conversion facilities and valley views that make the steep climb from Machynlleth worth every step.

Gwersyllfa Glyndŵr sits half a mile south of Machynlleth on the hillside above the River Dyfi, placed at the midpoint of the 135-mile Glyndŵr's Way National Trail. The site is working farm land, tent-only, with unmarked grass pitches and unobstructed views across the Dyfi Valley towards Eryri and Cardigan Bay. This is Wales' only UNESCO Biosphere, and the site earns its place in it.

The owners have converted the farm barn into something genuinely useful: showers, a kitchen, and a loft common room with a wood burner for the cold evenings that Mid Wales reliably delivers. Cyclists arriving on the Traws Eryri or Lon Las routes, and walkers midway through Glyndŵr's Way, find this more than a field with a tap. The common room is where damp boots get dried and itineraries get redrawn over a brew.

Dyfi Bike Park is a stone's throw away with 650 acres of trail. Cors Dyfi Wildlife Centre is 2.5 miles down the valley; Ynyshir RSPB 4.5 miles. Cader Idris and Snowdonia are on the bus route. The site is honest about what it is: a serious base for people who came to move through this landscape.
