Gwern Gôf Isaf Campsite & Bunkhouses
A working Snowdonia farm in the Ogwen Valley that's been taking campers since 1906, with direct access to Tryfan, Pen yr Ole Wen, and the surrounding ridges.
Gwern Gof Isaf sits in the Ogwen Valley at the heart of Eryri, positioned to look straight out at the mountains of North Wales. The farm has been operating since 1906 and still runs sheep, cattle, and horses alongside the camping. That continuity shows: this is a place with weight to it, not a converted field with a website.
The site takes tents, caravans, motorhomes, and a shepherd's hut, plus bunkhouses for groups. At £11 per person per night for a tent pitch, it punches well below what the setting might justify. Tryfan and Pen yr Ole Wen are directly accessible from the site, and the Snowdonia Slate Trail passes through the valley. For walkers and climbers, the logistics are about as good as they get.
Facilities are honest and sufficient: clean toilets with sink in each cubicle, showers on a token system (5 minutes each), a washing-up room with dish soap, a laundry with washer and dryer, and charging lockers. No frills beyond what you actually need after a day on the hill. No dogs are allowed on site.
Before you book
- No dogs allowed.
- Showers run on tokens for 5-minute sessions, which suits some campers better than others.
- Groups are common and the site can be lively at night.
