Dolgam sits on the bank of the River Llugwy, the fast-running Snowdonia river that threads between Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig, and has been doing so for close to a hundred years. That continuity matters: the facilities are clean by habit rather than by contract, the owner is present, and the place carries the quiet confidence of somewhere that has never needed to reinvent itself.

The river is paddleable and swimmable directly from the site, Moel Siabod rises steeply to the south, and the Snowdon Sherpa bus stops outside the gate: S1 to Pen y Pass, T10 to Ogwen. Tryfan is a short drive up the valley. On a clear night the Milky Way shows above the ridge, and reviews from winter visitors confirm the sky is genuinely dark. The pub at Tyn-y-Coed is a twenty-minute walk and serves proper food at campsite-friendly prices.

Pitches are flat and level, spanning tent, caravan, and motorhome options with electric hookups available. The shower block runs free hot water and is cleaned several times daily. The Chicken Coop offers a hybrid camping-bunkhouse option for those who want a roof, and a farmhouse B&B sits adjacent for companions who have been camping one night too many.
