Craigmaddie sits two miles north of Milngavie, the official start of the West Highland Way, which makes it the obvious overnight for anyone walking north and the obvious arrival point for anyone walking south. Brian and Anne run the six pods with a level of personal attention that reads less like hospitality and more like genuine warmth: guests report being driven into town and back, shortbread left on arrival, a lost item phoned about and held until collected.

The pods are compact but properly thought through: floor heating, a small kitchen, private bathroom, plush bedding, and a terrace outside for the countryside air.
