Cei Bach Country Club

Eleven hardstanding pitches on the Ceredigion coast, with Cardigan Bay dolphins visible from the sea-view touring area and a private beach five minutes down the path.

Cei Bach sits 1.5 miles north of New Quay on the Ceredigion coast, small enough that the owners greet new arrivals personally, and positioned well enough that a five-minute walk from the gate brings you to a private pebble-and-sand beach directly on the coastal path. Eleven level hardstanding pitches, each with its own electric hookup and water point, look out over the sea.

The Cardigan Bay marine reserve wraps round you here: dolphins and seals are regularly spotted from the New Quay harbour, a short walk from the site along the coastal path. Aberaeron, a compact Georgian harbour town, is five miles south. The site has a children's play area and facilities the reviewers consistently describe as immaculately kept, closed daily between noon and two for cleaning.

Alongside the touring pitches there is a self-catering bungalow and a glamping cabin for those who want a roof. Adults-only quiet it is not, but families and couples both use it well and the sea-view pitch allocation rewards everyone. Stock the van or caravan before you arrive: the nearest sizeable supermarket is a long round trip to Cardigan or Aberystwyth.

The 'Country Club' in the name is a red herring. There is no clubhouse, no bar, and no entertainment programme. What there is: genuinely small, genuinely coastal, and an owner who actually cares.

Before you book

  • Steep drive down to the site; the road to the beach is also a steep incline, which may pose difficulty for those with limited mobility.
  • Facilities are closed daily from noon to 2pm for cleaning.
  • No grey waste disposal point on site (owners can lend a portable container).
A quietly run, properly coastal touring site on a stretch of Cardigan Bay that genuinely earns the trip: small pitch count, sea views, a private beach five minutes on foot, and owners who care about the place.
