Burns Farm Caravan Site

A family-run Lake District valley site with Highland cattle, immaculate facilities, and mountain views of Helvellyn, Blencathra and Skiddaw from every pitch.

Burns Farm sits in St John's in the Vale, a quiet corridor of Lake District farmland three miles from Keswick, with Helvellyn, Blencathra and Skiddaw forming a ring of fells around the valley. The site earns its reputation through fastidious upkeep: reviewers consistently single out the shower block and toilets as spotless, the pitches as level and well-spaced, with individual parking bays so you're not threading between other people's guide ropes.

Accommodation runs the full range. Grass and hardstanding pitches take tents, tourers and motorhomes; bell tents and luxury adult-only log cabins round out the glamping offer, the latter with private hot tubs, Weber BBQs and fire pits. A pair of Highland cattle on the farm are a quiet constant that makes this feel like a working place rather than a leisure complex. The small on-site shop stocks local beers, pastries and coffee.

The location works hard. Keswick is ten minutes by car and the Keswick to Threlkeld railway trail is walkable from the site, making it easy to do the town without moving the van. Derwentwater is close. Whether you're here to bag Helvellyn or simply sit in a valley of mountains and do nothing in particular, the site gives you the base for it.
