Painters Farm Campsite

A two-acre orchard campsite on the Kent Downs slope, with an ale house a short walk from your pitch and the Augustine Camino starting at the gate.

Painters Farm sits on the slope of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, tucked inside seventeen acres of cherry orchard outside the village of Painters Forstal. Cars park separately from pitches, which means an uncluttered lawn of tents with orchard views and room for children to roam without dodging bonnets. The Alma ale house is seven minutes on foot, pouring Shepherd Neame ales, and the farm's own small shop covers basic essentials.

The hosts keep the site with evident care: showers are hot, facilities are consistently clean, and fire pits can be hired from the shop for evenings when the sun sets slowly over the trees. The Augustine Camino long-distance trail can be picked up directly from the site, making this a natural base for a day's walking through Kent Downs countryside.

Faversham, a few minutes by car or a walk away, has the longest complete medieval street in England and a Shepherd Neame brewery to tour. Whitstable's oyster bars and shingle beach are about twenty-five minutes' drive. Canterbury's World Heritage sites are a quarter of an hour away. The site works equally well as a quiet retreat and as a base for day trips.

A well-run orchard campsite where the car-free pitch layout, the on-site ale house, and the direct trail access give it a character that facilities alone rarely produce.
