Meadow View Country Park

A well-run Dorset park positioned between Cranborne Chase and the New Forest, where 52 acres, a lakeside setting, and fire pits give families serious room to breathe.

Meadow View sits on the Dorset-Hampshire fringe near Horton village, a few miles from Wimborne and about 20 minutes from Bournemouth. The park covers 52 acres with an on-site fishing lake, open fields, and pitches ranging from grass tent spots to safari tents and shepherd's huts. Drusilla's Inn is on your doorstep, and the Old Inn at Holt is worth the short drive for views of Horton Tower at sunset.

The appeal here is coverage: Moors Valley Country Park and Forest is 10 minutes away, the New Forest (closest entry at Burley via the A31) is about 20 minutes, and Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park is 15 minutes for families with younger children. Bournemouth beaches and the Jurassic Coast are within an easy half-day return. The park's low-light-pollution position makes for genuine star-gazing on clear nights.

Pitches include non-electric grass options in the lower field as well as glamping accommodations. Fire pits are permitted (bring your own). Facilities run to showers, toilets, shop, playground, and Wi-Fi. Dogs are welcome across the site. The park opens year-round.
