Harry's Meadow
A genuinely spacious New Forest meadow with dark skies, a rope swing on the river, and wood-fired pizza when you get back from the walk.
Harry's Meadow sits within Hale Park Estate on the New Forest's western fringe, close enough to Fordingbridge to walk in for supplies but firmly inside the national park. The 40 acres of flat grassland are lined by a grand avenue of lime trees, and the Avon Valley views open out in a way that feels genuinely earned. Wild swimming is a five-minute stroll from the field.
The operation is run by Owen, Jesse, and George with the kind of attentiveness that keeps people coming back: private shower cubicles, regularly checked facilities, and an on-site barista in the mornings. Evenings pull together around the stretch-tent bar and wood-fired pizza service, with enough space between pitches that none of it feels crowded. The field suits families comfortably but also works for solos and small groups, and the dark skies are good enough for meteor-shower nights. Bell tent glamping is available alongside standard grass pitches.
The Horse and Groom pub is a mile away, the New Forest's cycling and walking network starts at the gate, and activities such as archery and axe throwing are a short distance away at Insight Activities. Beach day trips to Mudeford, Hengistbury Head, or Lepe are within reach. Site opens for the late-May bank holiday weekend and then again mid-July through August, so the season is short by design.
Before you book
- The site runs two windows only: the late-May bank holiday weekend and mid-July through end of August. Book early for summer.
