Glengoulandie Camping & Caravanning

Glen-set Perthshire campsite with Schiehallion on the skyline, 50 red deer next door, and walking trails leaving straight from the pitch.

Glengoulandie sits at the foot of Dùn Coillich in a quiet glen between Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, with Schiehallion rising behind the tree line. The deer park adjoining the site holds over 50 red deer, and more than 70 bird species use the surrounding woodland and hills, including golden eagles. This is a site where the setting does the work before you've unzipped the tent.

Pitches cover grass for tents, hardstanding for tourers and motorhomes, and a pod enclave with eastward and southward views. The family pods are well-fitted: underfloor heating, bedding and towels, a proper kitchen setup, and the kind of complimentary tablet that says the hosts (Fiona and Andy) are paying attention. The shepherd's hut adds a quieter alternative for a couple. Facilities are kept to a high standard throughout.

Walking routes leave directly from site: the Dùn Coillich trails (red, white, and green) start within 2km, and Schiehallion is accessible from the site itself. Glen Lyon is close by for a longer day out. Aberfeldy, less than 8 miles north west, covers the practical needs: supermarket, the Birks waterfall walk, Dewar's distillery, and Castle Menzies. Loch Tay is roughly 6 miles west of Aberfeldy if you want water.

A characterful glen site where the landscape does most of the talking: Schiehallion views, a living deer park, and trails from the door, run by hosts who take the small details seriously.
