Top Farm
A generations-old family farm on one of Norfolk's few hills, run by the infectiously enthusiastic Clive, where every pitch gazes out over the rolling East Anglian countryside
Gazing over the rolling countryside of East Anglia would normally be an entirely relaxing affair, but whilst Top Farm sits on one of Norfolk's few hills our view had been enhanced further by owner Clive, who thought nothing of getting his digger out and allowing Campr to get some shots from its outstretched bucket. After a brief moment of vertigo we could truly appreciate what a remarkable place this is, in both setting and owner ethos. Top Farm has been in Clive's family for generations and his excitement is infectious as he describes the site and its setting. Years on, that welcome clearly hasn't dimmed: guests still single out Clive as a helpful, friendly host who settles you in himself.
The site is ideally situated for exploring Norfolk with the coast twenty minutes away by car and Norwich to the south. Closer to home the site is surrounded by beautiful woodland for walking and cycling, and if you fancy a more adventurous trip there are guided activity breaks allowing you to explore the Bure Valley on bike and canoe. Lying deep in the Norfolk countryside the site attracts a broad congregation of holiday makers. The main field is dedicated to caravanners, glampers are well catered for with the shepherd's huts and bell tents sitting in their own beautiful semi-wild meadow, and campers get arguably the best pitches overlooking the countryside. The tent field is shared with camping cabins that offer glamping on a budget, and there's a camp kitchen, The Sunshine Cafe, with wood burning stove and bbq encouraging relaxed, communal vibes. That little kitchen earns its keep when the weather turns, giving campers somewhere dry to gather.
One thing worth knowing before you arrive: the approach is by a rough farm track with a dip in it, so take it slowly, especially if you are towing.
