Maynards Caravan & Camping Park
A no-frills base camp on the edge of Arundel with a pub next door, the South Downs on the horizon, and the coast a short drive away.
Maynards sits in Crossbush, just north of Arundel, on a quiet grass field that punches well above its facility count by virtue of where it is. The market town of Arundel, with its castle, cathedral, and Wetland Centre, is about 30 minutes on foot or a few minutes in the car. The West Sussex coast, Littlehampton included, is 10 minutes' drive. The Monarch's Way long-distance trail and the South Downs Way are accessible without needing to plan a day around them.
The site is genuinely small-scale and independently run, with new owners since early 2024 who are putting work into it. Pitches are grass, spread out, with electric hookups available. Toilets and showers are on site and kept clean; the Beefeater pub-restaurant is literally adjacent, which takes the pressure off self-catering on arrival night. The train station is walkable from the site, which makes it an unusually accessible choice for those arriving without a car.
Dogs are welcome throughout. Budget pricing and a year-round open policy make this a solid off-season option when half the county is shut.
