Lower Hill campsite
A 230-acre working farm at the foot of Wenlock Edge, with terraced hillside pitches and a range of glamping units looking out across the Shropshire plain.
Lower Hill Farm sits at the foot of Wenlock Edge on 230 working acres outside Much Wenlock, and the setting does all the heavy lifting. Terraced hillside pitches face out over the Shropshire plain toward the Welsh border, and the glamping units each have their own angle on it: the Shepherd's Hut catches the Wrekin, the Roundhouses look out over the Ape Dale, and The Rotunda's panoramic windows frame it all properly.
The farm is a real operation, not a glamping park that happens to have animals. Sheep, goats and cattle share the land; Rita and family are on site and reachable. The on-site honesty shop covers what you forgot, there's a small woodland walk directly behind the farm, and National Trust walks along Wenlock Edge are close to the site. Ironbridge Gorge is ten minutes by car; Shrewsbury is twenty.
Glamping runs from straightforward camping pods with wood-fired hot tubs and fire pits through to lodges with full beds and wood burners. The pod beds are on the compact side, worth noting if you're tall. Tent and caravan pitches sit on the terraced fields and share the same views. The fire pit provision is generous throughout; bring your own firewood or buy on site.
Quiet hours are enforced seriously: the site does not tolerate late-night noise, and guests can be asked to leave without a refund. That strictness is precisely why the place stays as peaceful as reviewers consistently describe.
