Highertown Farm Campsite
National Trust-managed coastal site above Lansallos Cove, where the South West Coast Path starts at the gate and a 14th-century church stands in the next field.
Highertown Farm sits on an elevated hillside above Lansallos Bay in one of Cornwall's quieter coastal stretches. The South West Coast Path passes directly by, and the cove beach is a short walk downhill. This part of the Cornish coast, between Polruan and Looe, trades Newquay-scale crowds for proper footpath country: quiet sandy beaches, fishing villages, and farmland that hasn't been converted into a leisure park.
The site is unmanned in the way that works: 30 pitches across separate tent and motorhome areas, two clean toilet and shower blocks (one with a composting loo), a coin-operated washing machine in the wash-up room, and a converted upstairs barn that doubles as a games room with a large phone-charging station. The pitches are level, the grass is kept, and the whole operation carries the quiet maintenance quality you associate with National Trust land.
Campervans and motorhomes up to 6 metres are welcome alongside tents, and electric hookups are available. Dogs are welcome. Fires are not permitted on site. The neighbouring church, dating from the 1300s, is worth a look before you head down to the coast.
