Greener Glamping

Two off-grid yurts in Cynwyd Forest, high in the Berwyn Mountains, with Dee Valley views and the North Berwyn Way a couple of hundred metres from your door.

Greener Glamping sits in Cynwyd Forest in the Berwyn Mountains, overlooking the Dee Valley AONB with views toward Snowdonia. Two self-contained yurts sleep four and seven respectively, each with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and renewable energy, so the off-grid credentials come without the usual compromises. Dark skies with no light pollution mean the Milky Way is properly visible on a clear night.

The North Berwyn Way is a couple of hundred metres from the site, giving walkers direct access to summits including Moel Fferna and Moel Henfaes. Cynwyd village is a 20 to 30 minute walk, waterfalls are on your doorstep, and Snowdonia National Park is 20 minutes by car. Guests consistently mention wild swimming spots becoming a feature of their stay. There is a pub, the Grouse Inn, within feasible walking distance.

Host Nathan runs a genuinely light-touch operation: present when needed, absent when not. His approach is mentioned in almost every review. The yurts feel spacious despite being in the forest, and the larger one comfortably takes a family. Fire pits at each pitch round off evenings in a setting that earns a serious return-visit rate.

Before you book

  • Steep drive to access the site.
  • Only two yurts, so availability is tight in peak season and advance booking is recommended.
