Field Farm Fisheries
A family-run Suffolk fishing site where six stocked lakes are the main event, with the Suffolk coast a short drive away and enough space that you'll never feel crowded.
Field Farm Fisheries sits just off the A12 near Wrentham, surrounded by open farmland and the gentle countryside of coastal Suffolk. The camp pitches look out over a series of well-stocked coarse fishing lakes and, on a clear evening, the light settles over the water in a way that rewards those who came for the peace as much as those who came for the perch.
The site is run by Nicky, who is reliably present and approachable without being hovering. Pitches are generously spaced and nobody will tell you which way to park or pitch your tent, which turns out to be one of the things guests mention most fondly. Facilities are honest and well-kept: clean showers, a tackle shop, recycling facilities, and a separate off-lead field for dogs with public footpaths leading out from it. The site takes tents, caravans, motorhomes, a pod and a log cabin.
Southwold is about 25 minutes away, Kessingland closer still, with Aldeburgh, Beccles, and Walberswick all reachable in a short drive. The site is genuinely coastal-adjacent without the premium pricing that word usually attracts. From £19 a night, this is quiet Suffolk at an honest price.
Before you book
- Parts of the site are unlevel; a self-contained unit or a van with levelling blocks will suit you better than a rigid-awning setup.
- Shower tokens cost £1 for 5 minutes; bring coins.
“A no-nonsense family-run fishing site that earns its reputation through owner presence, generous pitch spacing, and genuine peace. The lakes make it worth the trip even if you've never touched a rod.”
