Campsite on Bromyard Downs

Woodland-edged campsite on Bromyard Downs where the walking starts the moment you step off your pitch.

Bromyard Downs Campsite sits on the outskirts of Bromyard, a small Herefordshire market town, with immediate access to Bromyard Downs and Bringsty Common directly from the site boundary. Two fields, Quarry and Woodland, offer a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches across a quietly kept, flower-bedded site where the wardens are the kind who will be under your motorhome fixing the plumbing before you've had time to worry.

The setting does the heavy lifting here. Walkers step straight off their pitch onto the downs or common, and two pubs are reachable on foot across open ground. The adjacent woodland is thick with birds: greenfinches, thrushes, woodpeckers, and more turn up reliably. Nearby, the National Trust's Brockhampton estate is within walking distance, and Hereford, Worcester, and Malvern are all easy by car for days out.

Dogs are genuinely welcome and the off-lead walking directly from the site is a real draw. Families with small children have plenty of open space for running about and nature walks. The site is open year-round with electric hookups available on some pitches, making it a practical choice for caravans and motorhomes as well as tents.

Before you book

  • No toilet or shower block on site: self-contained units are fine, but tent campers should factor this in before booking.
  • The site sits close to the A44, and road noise is audible from some pitches, particularly at night.
A well-kept, genuinely accessible woodland-edge site where the Downs are your back garden and the wardens are the kind you remember fondly.
