Bluebell Camp Site
Woodland glamping from a small East Sussex operator who takes fire pits, yurts, and the Bluebell Steam Railway seriously.
Bluebell Camp Site sits in woodland near Horsted Keynes station, which makes it one of the few campsites in England where you can arrive by steam train. Yamp Camp runs five sites across East Sussex and Kent; Bluebell is their woodland outpost, and the setting does the heavy lifting: trees above, no road noise, and a private fire pit at every pitch.
The glamping here is communal by instinct. The large Mongolian yurt is sized for groups and doubles as a wet-weather shelter; sleeping yurts are comfortable with proper beds. Facilities are on the rustic side (compost loos, reported clean showers with reliable hot water) and there is no phone signal, which is either a selling point or a caveat depending on your household. An award-winning cafe sits next door to the site.
The surrounding High Weald landscape gives you options. Barcombe Mills wild swimming is a short walk away, traditional country pubs are within walking distance, and the South Downs are visible from the site. Lewes is a ten-minute drive for provisions or a proper meal.
