Beares Den

Clifftop farm campsite above Mounts Bay with three coves in walking distance and a pizza oven the owner built himself.

Beares Den sits on Trevean Farm above Rosudgeon, a few miles east of Penzance, with fields that run right down to the clifftop and uninterrupted views across Mounts Bay to the Lizard Peninsula. The South West Coast Path passes below, and Stackhouse Cove, Perranuthnoe, and Kenneggy Sands are all on foot from the gate.

Pitches are spacious grass terraces for tents and motorhomes, with glamping yurts for those who want a roof already waiting. Towing caravans aren't taken, which keeps the field feel intact. Facilities run to hot showers, a shared kitchen area with fridge, freezer, and kettle, and communal fire pits. On pizza nights, the owner fires up his hand-built oven and takes orders: artisan sourdough made on site, no advance notice required if you arrive on the right evening.

The coast path is genuinely usable from the campsite. Walk east towards Cudden Point and the Prussia Cove Estate, or head down to the cove for an evening swim in clear water. A bus stop at the end of the road runs into Penzance and along the coast, so the car stays parked most days. Dogs are welcome throughout.
