Mwnt Camping

A seven-pitch meadow a twenty-minute walk from one of Wales's finest coves, run by Helen and Dylan with the kind of warmth that makes you want to stay a fortnight.

Mwnt Camping sits on three acres of rolling meadow in Ceredigion, with views that sweep from the Atlantic to the Preseli Hills. The pitches are well-spaced and separated by wild grass and trees, so even at capacity you have a sense of breathing room. Mwnt Beach, a sheltered National Trust cove popular with dolphins, is a twenty-minute traffic-free walk or a few minutes by car.

Helen and Dylan are the kind of owners who leave veg from the farm at an honesty box, light fires in a small stone circle when the evening calls for it, and make crepes on weekend mornings. Free-range ducks and chickens wander the site. The atmosphere is easy and communal without being forced: reviewers consistently note that total strangers end up singing round the fire by night two.

Facilities are honest and well-kept: hot showers, toilets, shared fridge and freezer in the washing-up area, laundry, and a communal fire. Wi-Fi is on site. Cardigan is ten minutes by car and has supermarkets within three miles. The site takes tents, small campervans, bell tents, and a vintage caravan.

Before you book

  • No dogs allowed.
  • Campervans with awnings may need a second vehicle to get into Cardigan and further afield, a local taxi firm is well-regarded by previous guests.
One of the few small sites in Wales where the owner presence is felt as a feature rather than a formality. Come for the cove, stay for the campfire.
